December's kit is all about Holey Paper & Simple
Stitches. What could be simpler than stitching in a
prepunched design? Bazzill
InStitch'Z cardstock lets you do just that with
the star design already punched for you! A commonly
used simple stitch is the backstitch, which creates
a solid row of stitches.
1. Secure Fiber
Choose
the fiber or ribbon that you will stitch with, and cut
off about one yard to begin. You can use a needle or
just wrap a piece of tape around one end of the fiber.
Insert the fiber from the back of the paper up through
one of the holes. Pull the fiber through until only
an inch or so remains on the back of the page. Secure
the end down with tape.
2. Backstitch Design Insert the fiber down
into the second hole and pull it taut. Then, come up
from the back into the next hole of the design. Pull
the fiber taut and then insert it back into the same
hole where your last stitch ended.
 Continue
until the design is completed. Secure the end on the
back and trim it off.
TIP: If you run out of fiber along the way,
just tape the end down on the back and start a new piece.
Take this simple design even farther by trying different
stitches. For example, stitch lines between each hole
to create a crisscross design. Or, tie simple knots
between every two holes.
